👩🍳 Instructions
- 1 Whip the powdered whipped cream mix together with the cold milk using a mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside in the fridge.
- 2 In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and lump-free, then gently fold this mixture into the whipped cream so it doesn't deflate.
- 3 Divide the cream into two portions. Leave one portion white, and mix the other with the chocolate sweetened condensed milk until evenly combined to make a chocolate cream.
- 4 Prepare a square baking pan or clear glass dish. Arrange the first layer of biscuits tightly to cover the bottom of the dish, breaking them slightly if needed to fit.
- 5 Spread the white cream layer over the biscuits, then arrange the banana slices evenly on top.
- 6 Arrange a second layer of biscuits, spread with the chocolate cream, then arrange the strawberry slices on top.
- 7 Repeat the layers once more (biscuit-white cream-banana, biscuit-chocolate cream-strawberry) until the dish is full, finishing with a layer of cream on top.
- 8 Smooth the top layer of cream with a spatula, then sprinkle evenly with chopped almonds and chocolate sprinkles. Garnish with red maraschino cherries if desired.
- 9 Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, ideally overnight, so the biscuits absorb the cream and become soft like cake layers.
- 10 Before serving, cut with a sharp knife dipped in hot water for neat slices. Serve chilled straight from the fridge.
💡 Tips
• Use bananas that are ripe but still a bit firm (not too soft) so the slices stay pretty and don't turn watery after sitting overnight.
• The longer it chills in the fridge (even up to 24 hours), the softer the biscuits become and the more perfectly the flavors meld together, so don't rush to serve it.
• For a neater look when slicing, use a loaf pan lined with plastic wrap so you can lift the whole cake out easily before cutting.
• The cream cheese must be at room temperature before beating so it turns out smooth and lump-free when mixed with the whipped cream.
