  • 2 pieces (150 grams each) Salmon fillet
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 Ripe avocado
  • 60 ml Heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Chopped cilantro/parsley
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 tsp Chili powder (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1 Take the salmon out of the fridge 10 minutes before cooking so it reaches an even temperature, then pat the surface dry with paper towels.
  2. 2 Season both sides of the salmon evenly with salt and black pepper.
  3. 3 Heat the olive oil and butter in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
  4. 4 Place the salmon skin-side down, pressing gently so the skin lies flat and gets crispy, and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  5. 5 Flip the salmon, add the minced garlic around it, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until done to your liking (the center should still be slightly pink for a juicy result).
  6. 6 Remove the salmon and set it aside, letting the garlic stay in the pan to keep its fragrance.
  7. 7 While waiting, mash the avocado with a fork or blender, then mix it with the heavy cream, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until it forms a smooth, creamy sauce.
  8. 8 Pour the avocado sauce onto a serving plate, then place the baked salmon on top.
  9. 9 Sprinkle with chopped cilantro/parsley and chili powder if you like it spicy, and serve immediately while warm.

💡 Tips

• Choose a truly ripe avocado so it has a soft texture and mashes easily without any bitter taste.

• Don't flip the salmon too often while cooking so the skin stays crispy and doesn't fall apart.

• For an extra creamy sauce, add a little grated Parmesan cheese to the avocado sauce.

• Store any leftover avocado sauce in an airtight container and add a little extra lemon juice on top to keep it from browning too quickly.
