- 150 g Rice balls: glutinous rice flour
- 100 ml warm water
- Red and green food coloring
- 50 g Filling: roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 500 ml Broth: water
- 100 g grated palm sugar
- 50 g granulated sugar
- 5 inch piece mature ginger, crushed
- 2 leaves pandan leaves
- Toppings: kolang-kaling (sugar palm fruit)

👩🍳 Instructions
- 1 Filling: mix the coarsely crushed peanuts with granulated sugar
- 2 Rice balls: knead the glutinous rice flour with warm water until smooth and pliable
- 3 Divide the dough into 3 parts: white, red, and green
- 4 Take a portion of dough, flatten it, fill with 1/2 tsp of the peanut filling, then roll into a tight ball
- 5 Boil the rice balls in boiling water until they float, then remove
- 6 Broth: bring water to a boil with the ginger and pandan leaves
- 7 Add the palm sugar and granulated sugar, stirring until dissolved
- 8 Cook for 10 minutes, then strain
- 9 Arrange the rice balls, kolang-kaling, peanuts, and bread cubes in a bowl
- 10 Pour the hot ginger broth over the top
- 11 Serve warm
💡 Tips
• Good rice balls should be smooth and shouldn't crack when boiled
• Crush the mature ginger until slightly mashed to bring out its spiciness
• The sound of the ronde cart at night is such a nostalgic memory
