👩🍳 Instructions
- 1 Marinate the sliced chicken with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 clove minced garlic, and a pinch of pepper for 15 minutes.
- 2 Prepare the gochujang sauce: mix gochujang, sugar, apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and 1 tbsp water until well combined. Set aside.
- 3 Sauté the carrot with a little oil and salt for 2 minutes until slightly wilted but still crunchy, then remove and set aside.
- 4 Using the same pan, sauté the mushrooms with the remaining garlic, a little soy sauce, and sesame oil until cooked, then remove.
- 5 Toss the blanched spinach and bean sprouts separately, each with a little salt, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds. Mix well separately.
- 6 Heat cooking oil in a pan and cook the marinated chicken until done and slightly caramelized, then set aside.
- 7 Fry the eggs sunny-side up with slightly runny yolks, one at a time.
- 8 Prepare a serving bowl and add warm white rice as the base.
- 9 Arrange the vegetables (carrot, spinach, bean sprouts, cucumber, mushrooms) and chicken in sections around the rice, placing the sunny-side-up egg in the center.
- 10 Drizzle the gochujang sauce on top, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onion, and serve immediately while warm. Mix everything together well before eating.
💡 Tips
• You can swap in other vegetables based on your preference, such as radish or bell peppers—just make sure to use a variety of colors for an appealing presentation.
• Use a hot pan or a hot stone bowl (dolsot) if you have one, so the rice at the bottom gets slightly crispy, just like authentic bibimbap.
• Gochujang can be found at large supermarkets or Korean grocery stores; be sure to choose a product labeled halal.
• Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly before eating so the savory, spicy, and fresh flavors blend perfectly in every bite.
