Pineapple ginger turmeric — the most powerful anti-inflammatory drink you can make right in your own kitchen! The combination of pineapple, ginger, turmeric, and lemon is a natural formula scientifically proven to reduce inflammation markers in the blood. Pineapple contains bromelain, which isn't just an ordinary digestive enzyme — bromelain is a systemic anti-inflammatory that can pass through the bloodstream and work directly on inflamed tissue, making it effective for sinusitis, arthritis, sports injuries, and post-surgery recovery. Ginger contains more than 400 bioactive compounds, with gingerol and shogaol as the most potent — both have been shown to block the same inflammatory pathways as ibuprofen, but without the stomach side effects. Turmeric, with its curcumin, has been featured in more than 10,000 scientific studies as the strongest known anti-inflammatory compound. Lemon adds vitamin C and d-limonene, which protect the liver and support phase II detoxification. Coconut water provides potassium and magnesium as anti-inflammatory electrolytes. Regular consumption of this drink has been shown to help reduce chronic joint pain, speed up muscle recovery after exercise, and lower CRP (C-Reactive Protein) levels, a marker of systemic inflammation.

  • 300g fresh pineapple, cut into pieces
  • 2 inch piece large ginger (4-5cm), grated or thinly sliced
  • 2 inch piece fresh turmeric (3-4cm) or 1.5 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper (essential for curcumin activation)
  • 1 tsp manuka honey or black honey
  • 250ml coconut water
  • A pinch of Himalayan salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Turmeric root and lemon slices for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1 Peel and cut the pineapple into small pieces
  2. 2 Grate or thinly slice the fresh ginger and turmeric
  3. 3 Add the pineapple, ginger, and turmeric to the blender
  4. 4 Add the coconut water
  5. 5 Blend on high for 60 seconds until smooth
  6. 6 Add the lemon juice, honey, black pepper, and Himalayan salt
  7. 7 Blend for another 15 seconds to mix all the seasonings
  8. 8 Taste and adjust — add more honey if it's too sour, add more lemon if it needs more freshness
  9. 9 Strain through a fine cloth for a smoother result, or leave the pineapple fiber in if you prefer
  10. 10 Pour into a glass filled with plenty of ice
  11. 11 Garnish with lemon slices and a small piece of turmeric root
  12. 12 Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 48 hours

💡 Tips

• Be sure to add black pepper along with the turmeric — without it, curcumin's bioavailability is only 5%

• Fresh ginger and turmeric are always more potent than the dried versions — look for them at a local produce market or organic supermarket

• If you're taking blood thinners (warfarin), consult your doctor, as bromelain and turmeric have natural anticoagulant effects
