Not just an ordinary juice — this avocado green protein smoothie juice is a filling liquid meal replacement, rich in plant-based protein, and packed with nutrients for anyone on a strict diet who doesn't want to go hungry!

Avocado is the most nutritionally unique fruit because it's rich in monounsaturated fat (MUFA), especially oleic acid — the same fat found in olive oil. This healthy fat not only doesn't raise cholesterol but actually lowers LDL and raises HDL, while also providing long-lasting fullness since fat digests more slowly than carbohydrates.

Baby spinach contains complete plant protein, iron, magnesium, and vitamin K in high concentrations — magnesium in particular is important because more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the body require it, including energy production in the mitochondria and muscle protein synthesis.

Frozen banana gives this smoothie a creamy texture that makes it taste like ice cream, while also contributing potassium, vitamin B6, and tryptophan — a precursor to serotonin that boosts mood and helps reduce stress-related sugar cravings.

Protein powder or Greek yogurt adds essential amino acids to help preserve muscle mass during a calorie deficit, since a diet without enough protein will cause the body to break down muscle instead of fat for energy.

The optional spirulina is the highest-protein superfood on the planet, with 60-70% protein content and all the essential amino acids, plus B12, iron, and gamma-linolenic acid in just one teaspoon.

  • 1 whole ripe avocado, peeled and pitted
  • 100g fresh baby spinach
  • 1 whole banana, frozen overnight
  • 200ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 100g plain Greek yogurt or 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp honey or stevia
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder (optional)
  • Himalayan salt
  • Ice cubes
  • Avocado slices and mint leaves for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1 Freeze the banana overnight — this is the key to that perfectly creamy texture
  2. 2 Put the baby spinach and almond milk into the blender first
  3. 3 Blend until the spinach is completely smooth with no visible green flecks
  4. 4 Add the avocado, frozen banana, and Greek yogurt
  5. 5 Blend on high until creamy, like soft-serve ice cream
  6. 6 Add the honey, vanilla extract, spirulina (if using), and Himalayan salt
  7. 7 Blend briefly again until fully combined
  8. 8 The consistency should be thick and creamy — drinkable, but filling
  9. 9 Pour into a large glass and garnish with thin avocado slices and mint leaves
  10. 10 Sprinkle a little spirulina or ground cinnamon on top
  11. 11 Serve immediately, as avocado oxidizes quickly

💡 Tips

• Add more ice cubes if you want it thinner and more refreshing, or use less for a thicker, smoothie-bowl-like texture

• Spirulina has a strong sea-like flavor — start with just half a teaspoon if you're not used to it

• Drink within 10 minutes of making it, since avocado changes color and flavor very quickly once it oxidizes
